Valdobbiadene: where
our Prosecco begins

San Pietro di Barbozza, in the heart of Valdobbiadene, is home to us.
Our winery has always been here, and this is where we tend many of our own vineyards, among hills that demand presence, experience and constant care. Every row follows the contours of the land. Every task calls for attention. Every choice begins with respect for the vine, the grapes and the wine that will eventually reach our customers’ tables.

It is work we know well, guided by the same principle we have always followed: making every bottle as though it were intended first of all for our own family.

A land to protect

In Valdobbiadene, at the heart of the Prosecco Hills recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, vineyards are part of both the landscape and daily life. Working them requires patience and hard work, and many tasks are still carried out by hand, especially on the Rive, where the vineyards climb the steepest slopes.

These hills are also home to Cartizze, one of the finest expressions of the Valdobbiadene area. It is a small, particularly well-suited zone where exposure, slope, soil and microclimate contribute to exceptional grapes, made into elegant, refined and distinctive wines.

This landscape shapes a fundamental part of who we are: elegant, fresh Prosecco wines with a true sense of place, expressing not only the quality of the grapes but also the hands-on work of those who tend them day after day.

Our vineyards

Each of our wines comes from a particular place and a deliberate choice to care for it. Our vineyards lie in different areas, from the hills of Valdobbiadene to the Treviso plain and as far as Puglia: distinct landscapes that give each wine its own character, aromas and identity. Alongside our vines, we also make a small quantity of olive oil, guided by the same care for the land and the same belief in doing things simply, respectfully and by hand.

San Pietro di Barbozza

Our own vineyards and those of our growers are set among the hills of Valdobbiadene. Their steep slopes encourage the soil to drain naturally, while the microclimate, shaped by the nearby Prealps and the cool air moving through the hills, creates a precious balance of temperature variation, ventilation and good exposure to sunlight.

These conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly while preserving their freshness, aromas and finesse.

Candelù di Maserada di Piave

Alongside our hillside vineyards, we also work with grapes from the Treviso plain, around Mogliano Veneto, Breda di Piave and Candelù.

These areas are different from Valdobbiadene: gentler and more open, with more regular vineyard layouts and a different approach to growing. Here, the vines offer a more immediate, versatile character, suited to fresh, approachable, everyday wines made for the table and for sharing.

Puglia

In Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the province of Bari, we purchased an estate and vineyards devoted to native Puglian grape varieties. The wines we make here have a different character from our sparkling wines from Veneto: Primitivo is richer and more embracing; Verdeca and Bombino Bianco are fresher, with a strong sense of place; and Susumaniello is an ancient grape variety now being rediscovered.

We also grow olive trees here and make a cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil.

Environmental sustainability

Over the years, we have invested in new equipment, more efficient technology and environmentally conscious solutions, without losing our identity as a hands-on family winery. Caring for the land also means preserving the history and origins of our vines. That is why we are conducting research with the laboratory of the Cerletti School of Oenology to study and conserve vines that are more than 80 years old.

Valuable work that looks to the future by starting from our roots: understanding, preserving and making the most of what our land has passed on to us.

Water and energy

We work to reduce waste by recovering and reusing water wherever possible in our operations, and we invest in solar thermal and photovoltaic systems to generate renewable energy.

These are practical measures designed to make our winery more efficient and responsible, without losing our connection to the land.

Zero emissions

The project, which was recently completed and launched, recovers vine waste and uses it as a source of heat. Material that would normally be left over from vineyard work becomes a resource for the farm, through a zero-emissions project designed to reduce our impact and help protect the local area.

This choice also grew from a practical need: vine waste cannot be burned in the open and, if left in the vineyard, can create biological problems. Recovering it means turning an agricultural problem into useful energy and making the most of a natural resource already present in winegrowers’ daily work.
